SAP LeanIX: Application Portfolio, Architecture, and the Fact Base for Transformation
- SAP LeanIX
- Enterprise architecture
- Application portfolio
- TIME
- Transformation

SAP LeanIX is enterprise architecture and application portfolio management: fact sheets, business capabilities, interfaces, TIME (tolerate, invest, migrate, eliminate), and transformation roadmaps. RISE and S/4 programs buy it to “know what we have.” Six months later the survey is stale and architecture is still a Visio.
The unique challenge is data quality and ownership. If application owners do not update fact sheets, LeanIX is a snapshot. If TIME is assigned by IT alone, the business will ignore the roadmap. SR Soft staffs LeanIX with an EA and a transformation PMO who will enforce surveys and reviews.
The challenges that actually break the program
- Fact sheets created once in a workshop and never touched
- Interfaces missing so S/4 scope is a guess
- TIME without business sign-off
- LeanIX and Signavio and ServiceNow all claiming the truth
- No link from eliminate to a project
How SR Soft LLC staffs and delivers it
We implement LeanIX as a fact base with a review cadence. We connect TIME to a backlog. We do not let it compete with Signavio — LeanIX is the portfolio, Signavio is the process. We staff both when both are in the program.
